Renewable energies

The market for renewable energies is a booming market. While the share of renewable energies in electricity consumption was only 6% in 2000, by 2018 it had reached 38% and by 2025, according to the German government’s guidelines, the share is destined to grow to 40-45%.

Our law firm has had an active presence in the renewable energy market since 2005. We have provided comprehensive legal advice and assistance to companies in the purchase and operation of their first biomass cogeneration plants, as well as the introduction of new technologies to individual households.

While the first projects were in essence hardware projects, i.e., the purchase/sale and operation of large power plants, heating systems and combined heat and power plants, the last 10 years has seen the renewable energy market develop into an integrated digital market, with high-tech end devices that are digitally networked, thereby making energy transition possible in the first place.

We accompany, advise and support our nationally and internationally active clients in the construction of virtual power plants, the establishment and operation of digital platforms and marketplaces, the development of block chain projects, the design of new electricity products, the introduction of new measurement technologies, e-mobility and the development of hydrogen projects.

We have developed comprehensive agreements for both B2B and B2C markets.

Our many years of experience in IT law combined with our expertise in data protection law, which form the core areas of these contracts, help us to quickly and efficiently develop tailor-made solutions.

Electric mobility

Electric mobility is a central building block for modern, sustainable and climate-friendly mobility.

The legal aspects of e-mobility are as varied as use of the term itself. We support manufacturers of charging stations that offer their services via mobility platforms, roaming partners that make charging points accessible to end users, and service providers that offer further energy services in connection with e-mobility, e.g., their own electricity products.

This market, just like the renewable energy market, is a rapidly changing, quickly developing, highly digitalised market, which must reconcile both B2B and B2C business.

Production/Finishing processes/Trade

The companies we represent naturally include companies operating in the classic areas of production, finishing processes and trade.

In addition to providing support in all aspects of contract law, for example, in the case of distribution and agency agreements, the drafting and ongoing updating of general terms and conditions, supplier and customer contracts, and the drafting and maintenance of data protection law contracts, we have accompanied and supported our clients in digitalising their business processes. As well as employment law advice, this specifically includes the establishment of online platforms and digital marketplaces.

In addition to the specifications of the national legislator, the influence of EU law must also be increasingly taken into account, e.g., in the use of raw materials, as well as in terms of recycling.
